I had the epiphany that I need to live in the “here and now” (be in the present moment at all times) to fully experience life as a physical manifestation as a human being; I need to remain present to grow and expand in the universe. I had this epiphany when one of my very best friends in the world died at the age of 49 from skin cancer within six weeks of diagnosis to death.
On his deathbed, I started questioning my own mortality, and asked myself if I would be happy with my life if I died right now. My answer was “hell no! “.
I knew right then I had to get divorced, and three months later I filed. I’m five years out now, and my sons live across the country, but I am still a happier person because I am living my authentic life. Being authentic to who you are in the world is the greatest gift you can give yourself and the world.
