1. Do not overstate what you can do. Don't say, "I can guarantee that this will work perfectly" if it won't. Better yet, speak with your actions.

2. Address the people at workplace accordingly. This mostly works in more traditional environments such as Asia. Say "Sir", "Mr.", or "Ms." regardless of their position in the company.

3. Practice giving tips when you are satisfied with a service. People want to be compensated fairly of their value of work.

If your neighbour looked after your pet during a vacation, offer something in return. Perhaps buy them a souvenir. If they refuse, make sure to reciprocate the favour someday.
